Embroidery files you can trust before you sew
Embify is a UK-based online auto-digitizer. You drop in a logo, and it turns it into real stitches and a file your machine reads, with a true sew-out preview so you know it'll stitch properly before you pay a penny.
Why Embify exists
Getting a logo onto a garment used to mean one of two things. Send the artwork to a digitizer, wait a day or more and pay £15 to £40 for every version and every size. Or buy desktop software that costs hundreds of pounds and takes months to learn.
That's fine for a big production shop. It's a lot to ask of someone running a machine at home, an Etsy seller with a new design every week, or a small workwear shop quoting a customer today. Embify exists so they can turn their own logo into a clean machine file in their browser, see exactly how it'll sew, and pay £5 only when it's right.
Who it's for
- Home embroiderers with a Brother, Janome, Singer, Bernina or Pfaff machine
- Small embroidery and workwear shops digitizing customer logos in-house
- Etsy and craft sellers who need a file for every new design
- Clubs, schools and businesses who want their own logo stitched
- Anyone with a Tajima, Ricoma or other commercial machine that reads DST
- People who'd rather check the sew-out than pay for a surprise
How we test every change
A digitizing tool is only as good as the files it hands you, so nothing about how Embify stitches goes live untested.
- Every change is run against 80 professionally digitized production files, the same kind of files that run on commercial machines every day. Embify's targets for jumps, thread cuts, density and stitch length come from them.
- Designs are sewn out for real on fabric, because a screen can't tell you how a satin border sits on a fleece.
- When a customer tells us a design didn't sew well, the problem becomes a test of its own, so it can't quietly come back.
- A change that makes any of those results worse doesn't go live.
Honest about what it can't do
Embify is great for bold, flat logos, badges and lettering. Photos aren't supported yet (photo support is coming later this year), it isn't the right tool for soft gradients or 3D puff, and lettering under 4.5 mm tall won't stitch cleanly. We'd rather tell you that now than have you find out on the machine, so every design gets a straight answer in the Studio's Check: Ready to sew, Sew a test first, or Best for quoting. As with any digitized file, sew one sample before a big run.
