What is a JEF file?
A JEF file is the embroidery format used by Janome (and the closely related Elna and Kenmore) machines. Like PES, it stores both the stitches and the thread-colour information, so your machine knows the colour order.
Which machines use JEF?
JEF is the native format for Janome and Elna home machines, and some Kenmore models. Newer Janome machines also use JEF+ , but standard JEF is widely compatible. If you own a Janome, this is your format.
How to convert your logo to JEF
- Upload your logo (SVG for the sharpest result, or a clear PNG/JPG to trace).
- Set the finished size and check the sew-out preview.
- Choose JEF and download, ready to load onto your Janome.
