VP3 keeps your colours exactly
Not every format can hold a colour. A DST has nowhere to put one, and a PES or JEF saves each colour as the nearest thread in the maker's own chart, so some shades move. A VP3 keeps each colour exactly as you set it: we checked by writing known colours into the file and reading them back.
Pick real threads in Embify, from Madeira, Isacord, Gunold, Robison-Anton or Marathon, and each thread's name and code goes into the VP3 too, as well as onto the colour sheet.

Set the size for your hoop
Pfaff and Husqvarna Viking give the same hoop sizes different names. Set the finished size in Embify to fit inside the hoop you'll use, before you download.

Can I convert a PNG to VP3?
Yes, but not by renaming it. A VP3 holds stitches, so the PNG has to be digitized first. Upload it to Embify, check the sew-out preview, choose VP3 and download.
What size hoops do Pfaff and Husqvarna Viking machines use?
It depends on the model. Common sizes are 120 x 120 mm, 240 x 150 mm, 260 x 200 mm and 360 x 200 mm, and the largest reach 360 x 350 mm or 465 x 260 mm. Set the size in Embify to fit inside the hoop you'll use.
