What Embify does with your logo
- Cleans and traces itThe background goes and the artwork becomes clean shapes, colour by colour.
- Chooses a stitch for each partSatin for narrow parts such as letters, fill for big areas, a running stitch for fine lines.
- Sets up for the fabricUnderlay and pull compensation follow the fabric you pick.
- Plans the sew orderColours and parts are ordered to keep jumps and trims down.
- Checks itA Sew Score and plain warnings, such as text too small to stitch cleanly.
Where any auto-digitizing falls short
- Text under 4.5 mm tall (6 mm for lowercase).
- Photos and soft shading.
- Hairline details thinner than a thread.
- Special techniques: 3D puff, appliqué, sequins.
For these, a skilled digitizer in Wilcom does better work. For the logos most shops sew every week, automatic files are ready to stitch.
What you can still change in Embify
Size, placement, thread colours, the fabric and the words on the board. You cannot move single stitches; for that kind of control you need hand digitizing software.
Common questions
Is auto-digitizing good enough for customer work?
For most logos and lettering at normal sizes, yes. Check the sew-out and the Sew Score first; Embify warns you when something will not stitch cleanly.
Does Hatch Composer auto-digitize?
Hatch lists hand digitizing in Digitizer only. Check Hatch's own feature list for each level before buying.
Can I edit stitches after Embify digitizes?
You can change size, colours, fabric and words. Moving single stitches needs hand digitizing software.
