The short answer

Not directly. Wilcom says EmbroideryStudio is built for Windows and does not run natively on macOS. On an Apple silicon Mac it runs inside Parallels Desktop with Windows 11 for ARM, and Wilcom recommends at least 16 GB of memory. Embify runs in Safari or Chrome on any Mac with nothing to install.

Running Wilcom on a Mac

Wilcom also says not every feature is fully tested inside a virtual machine. Boot Camp, the old way to run Windows on a Mac, only exists on Intel Macs.

  2. Install Windows 11 for ARMOn M1 to M5 Macs only the ARM version of Windows works. It needs its own licence.

  4. Give it roomWilcom recommends at least 16 GB of memory, and 32 GB or more for better speed.

Hatch on a Mac

Hatch Embroidery 4, Wilcom's home range, has the same limit: it needs Windows 11, and on a Mac it runs through Parallels.
